Throughout her life, Alicia LaSalle has never been considered normal. While everyone dressed up in the latest fashions and trends Alicia was setting her own. When going to school she would wear things such as a pair of jeans with a skirt over top, 4 pairs of striped socks on each leg and 4 pairs of holey tights. People looked at her and said she was weird. When she knew people we’re whispering about her outfit she was incredibly happy. She had them right where she wanted them. She was determined to be the center of attention at all times and with her creative sense of style that’s exactly what she got. Not only did her creative choice of style make her stand out but so did her personality and her crazy hair antics! Alicia loved wigs, hair pieces, colored tracks, everything. She took her creativeness for clothing and applied to everything else that was going on in her life. When Alicia walked down the street everyone knew she was coming, I mean who can bypass a rainbow. Alicia couldn’t stand being like everyone else and with that in mind she knew she wanted to become a designer.​
Her choice was made and she set off to college for fashion design. When she first started she wasn’t happy. The teacher wouldn’t allow her to use her own color palette or ideas. She had to work in groups sometimes. And she COULD NOT SEW! She had a hard time sewing everything, getting along with people and she had the hardest following protocol. She had to dress professionally every day.  Not being allowed to wear jeans was incredibly hard for Alicia but it definitely paid off when she went to her externship. When she set off to work for a kids clothing company she had to deal with the behind the scene aspect of designing. SHE HATED IT! And that’s when she decided that she didn’t want to be behind the scenes doing all the technical computer work. She wanted to be seated with her sewing machine and lots of spandex fabric. She had sleepless nights and extremely rough days but she did whatever it took to become great at what she loved.  She started off at the bottom and ended being the champ winning in all the senior fashion competition categories at her college. It was the ending of college but the beginning of her greatness.​
